I may be a little biased, but I think I have the best couples when it comes to weddings. Jake and Katarina met, got engaged, and married in their home church in Lake Elmo, MN, where Katarina's father is the head pastor. I don't often tear up at weddings, since I've been to a lot, but this one created a little lump in my throat. Katarina's father not only gave her away, but he also delivered an incredibly touching message and service. It felt like a village had come out in support of Katarina and Jake, and the love felt in the worship center was undeniable. It was a morning wedding, so naturally they had brunch and lawn games for the reception, and a Vespa ride to take them out in style. Shooting weddings can sometimes create really long days and work hours, but every time I shoot, I'm reminded of how blessed I am by the people I meet and befriend. I get to play a role in the beginning of a marriage, and I think that's pretty cool.
